A bit of envy from the opposite corner. Not that I'd want to trade locations, but it would be nice to have so many OFCers close.

I like to take out the atlas when you guys are planning a gathering and see how many people are within 350 to 450 miles, the distance from Boise to the closest members in Salt Lake or Portland.

What a great bunch of guys.
Iffy is about the nicest guy anyone could ever hope to meet. The lunch he bought us was delicious. As a first time visitor to one of these jams I can only say it was awesome. It was great to meet some of these guys so I can put faces with the names. All of them were great, talented guys. G8r wasn’t exaggerating; darkbarguitar is an unbelievable singer though G8r is no slouch himself. Trader Jim did look a little to comfortable with the 12 string. It was funny hearing the family tree of some of his past and current guitars. I feel sorry for Weaser. I’m bummed about the weather here in Atlanta after this weekend and he’s headed back to NY.

Thanks again to all,
Gary

It was yet another great gathering for me. Iffy, thank you and your lovely wife Patty for a wonderful breakfast, loaning me a GREAT guitar to spend some time with around the pool (as I was tanning), buying ALL OF US lunch and allowing the group to overtake your beautiful home for the afternoon. You're a good man. I could not think of one reason to leave outside of the fact that my poor fingers were SCREAMING at the end of the afternoon. I guess I'll have to sit and play with friends for 8 hours more often, eh?

Serge, you're a very talented man and we HAVE to do this again. Your playing, singing, guitars, the electronic harmonizer...this guy is a walking party unto himself; darkbarguitar, I look forward to the tabs that you said you'd put together for serge and I (ok, WE said you should put them together but let's not get caught in the small details). Your playing and singing was nothing short of inspiring and reminds me that I really have to learn how to play and sing one of these days. It just looks so FREAKIN' easy; TJ. How you played that 12'er all day is beyond me but, for anyone who has not met the man, make it a goal. A never ending smiling machine who filled every two minute silence with a riff that led to another and another and another...just great stuff, man; Then Gary and his f-i-l came in to play a bit and join us for lunch and then ply the entire group with strawberries and whipped cream. Man. What a group.

Thanks everyone for putting this together when I could join in. I'm glad you've all found the OFC and we're a better group for having ya'll.

For G8R Bowl II, Jas and I drove 325 miles, Beggin & TRBoy were probably 450 and I'm sure War Eagle had to be over 500 miles. Not sure where Otto falls in there but, it had to be a haul for them too!
All distances are one way.

BTW... did Weaser say y'all ?
Another week down there and he'll go home asking for grits instead of hash browns for breakfast!

Great, Johnny. Post 'em up on the Gatherings section here, too. Maybe when Jim gets back from camping he can post his. Can't remember if Weaser or GNATL took pics, but if they did they should put up theirs too. I only had the video this time.

Very nice, iffy, and welcome back. Serge, if there is anything I regret about that day, the first would be I forgot my camera. Cannot beLIEVE I did that but, let's face it, some of you know what you're dealing with here and it's certainly not the sharpest tool in the shed. The second would be not torturing you guys with one of my classics but I just couldn't do that on the first trip. Maybe the second tho'...

Serge,

My DOH! Should I post the pics or the link there?

Bill,

Don't feel bad. I was counting on photog TJ to do his thang. But once he latched onto Serge's 12er, I knew I had to get a least a few shots for prosperity.

"one of my classics", ya was holding out on us?

"Sparing you" would be more like it. And I heard about it from SWMBO and SWMBOII too. Next time, I promise.

Johnny, just copy the image link (from the preview, not full-size, image) from the ning page. Hit "Preview Post" to make sure you did get the preview image, otherwise you'll have giant pics that scroll off horizontally.

I wish that was on vid! "Ready to go, hon?". "No, play something!".

TJ got the same 'demand' from Bonnie!

Thankfully, Patty just sat back and let me off the hook!

Wish I had some more pics, but this is one time I actually tried to play instead of take pictures. Next time, I'll do a full photo shoot.

I should have taken more pics, but it's tough to put down a guitar and grab a camera. I really regret not taking a camera to the Boiler Room!

I did put some pics over on the 'Gathering' forum.

BTW, didn't Gary take some vids?

Thanx BT!
