Does anyone know where I might find a decent deal on a vintage or current poster (acoustic) suitable for framing? I have permission from the wife for some redecorating and need to seize the opportunity before it goes away.

On a side note….. Captain Lovehandles has allowed me to buy him out of the 1597. I’m not sure if it was shame or pity, either way he’s a good fella’ in my book.

Gary, I have a really cool Ovation poster. Look at Jerome\'s bunch of Ovation patents . I can print them out BIG at work. I have a poster of the Breadwinner pickup patent in the room with my drawing table.

An idea.

That's great, so we just email our address to the Captain, and he sends us the poster of our choice. That's how it works, right?

You can find a ad you like, do a high-res scan of it, and your local Kinko's can make it poster size for not a ton of money. Asuming there are no copyright issues. Otherwise, the Captain might be your best bet. ;)

I just want a good Ovation design to put on a wall (other than another one of my guitars).

Actually, there's a mumber of Ovation banners floating around on the used market. Mike shows a nice one in his music room. I've got five Ovation banners of various sizes and designs, and dozens from other guitar/amp manufacturers found on eBay over the past 10 years. Most sign and banner shops will even make one for you using digitial logo designs that they presumably have the rights to use for as little as $40. Banners are a great and inexpensive way to fill a lot of wall space (ceilings, too) with color, texture and design.

I would like to get an electric sign with the Ovation logo. What is the best search string to use on ebay to find one? Of course, if anyone here has one for sale (that I can afford) that would be even better!

I did find one sign on the bay, but since it is in Hong Kong, I am not so sure about getting it. Fleabay number 220357662376. Is it worth the risk since it is in Hong Kong?

Chuck, I'm bidding on it.

I have bought in Hong Kong before without problem.
If I end up with it I can tell you what it's like.
Looks like they are professional sellers so will obviously have more available.

Then again they have a Taylor sign for sale as well so maybe they can't be trusted :D

Well Chuck, quick Feedback research tells me that it will probably take two weeks to a month for you to get it. But I have bought two or three things from Hong Kong, and I eventually got them.

Apparently the manufacture alot of different signs...

A few years ago, those single florescent bulb Hong Kong signs had no reserve. I bought two for a penny each. Shipping then covered the seller's cost and profit, I am sure. They were fine for about two years, then the bulbs burned out. The problem is that the bulb is an odd size, something like 8". I need to pick up some spare bulbs at a specialty lighting shop and I just haven't bothered. Based on my research, there are three different Ovation signs that were likely dealer only products. The multi-color neon is the best followed by the two-bulb orange plastic guitar shape sign, then the black plastic square sign, again with a florescent bulb tucked inside. I found all three on eBay over the years. They do come available from time to time.

AJ, I'm guessing you won this ('cos I can't imagine you being outbid with the price that low). Is this going over the bar?
