The drummer for Buffalo Springfield.
I'm still reading the Neil Young biography. Talks a little about him in there.

Wow.....I read the Buffalo Springfield biography that was mainly written by Richie Furay. Interesting insights on each of the members.

Nice article. Refreshing, not a lot of "ego". Kinda "workman-like" performance. RIP, Dewey.

That's very sad.

Bruce Palmer died a few years ago…

At a show a couple of years back, I asked Richie Furay if he thought there was ever going to be a Buffalo Springfield reunion and he said something like; "I'm open to the possiblity, but I'm not the one that has to be convinced."

Buffalo Springfield (along with The Byrds) have always been at the top of my "all-time favorites" list. Those two bands were the "parents" of many, many other great groups that followed, and they still influence new players today…

…that's quite a legacy.

RIP Dewey…

Beal: Which Neil Young biography? Do you recommend it? I don't think he has an autobiography out (yet), does he?

Wow, just read this for the first time today. Maybe it's coincidence, I'd been thinking of Buffalo Springfield lately, and Stephen Stills was in a dream I had just the other night. I thought it was strange at the time, and now even moreso.

I remember the first time I heard Buffalo Springfield as a teenager. It was on the car radio heading home from church one Sunday morning in the family car. Nowadays Clancy can't even sing! I remembered the group name and looked for that record for the longest time before finding it.

It sounds a little dated now, but most of those guys except for Dewey went on to make some great music. Thanks for bringing back those memories.

The book is called Shakey.
It's long and is kinda work to read. Maybe not being a die-hard Neil Young fan makes it that way.
Loved Buffalo Springfield and CSN&Y and the early Neil stuff. Just don't know much of it after Old Man etc.....
After the way they are described, probably accurately, in the book it's suprising that Palmer and Martin made it this long.
