QUESTION: Do the carbon axes have their own problems in the area of craftsmanship, durability, temperature, humidity? Not talking about cases of abuse, stupidity or malice.

The only issue I ever noticed with the top on my Millennium, is the brace pattern showing through - just barely. The 47 has been rock solid.

I doubt too many other brand wood guitars would survive multiple shots off of a trebuchet. Things like bridge lifts or cracked tops happen to all guitars. I know a Taylor, that the back split right open, right down the middle.

Easy repair. Not indestructible but surely will take abuse wood tops won't. Consider this scenario. I played a show in the Rockies, 12,000 ft, 15 degrees. Next day Adamas flew in the chilly bagage hold at 32,000 ft to Hilton head Island, sea level, 60 degree temp, played an outdoor show. Guitar was in better shape than I was. Haven't touched the truss rod in 26 years.

I am speaking of the early Adamas textured tops. I know little of the later designs. It was designed by Mr. C.K. to be a durable suface material for fighter jets. From my limited knowledge of the company (Bill would be the go to guy here on any of the history) but my take on it the sonic properties while testing for radar invisiblity were an accidental benefit and what a cool thing that was...is. He knows this and gives my guitars a wide berth. ;) I'm kidding of course. He gets to play with any of them as long as there are no tools in his hands. Otto .
