I just received my 1597-RG from Make'n Music in Chicago. Since MWoody had all the gremlins attacking his shipments; they left my shipment alone and mine came through with flying colors.

These guys were pleasant to deal with, packed it really well (it was overpacked in a Martin box) and shipped it quickly.

Price was right, as well. Highly recommended.

The 1597 looks great next to the 1598, too.

Nice family picture.
There are just the right percentage of non-Ovations to give yourself some credibility off of this site.

A picture of my "family" would expose me as an Ovation Slappy Fan-Boy in an instant.

What is the story behind the koa(?) topped one on the far left? Custom job?

All the way on the left (guitars) is a bubinga-topped '93 collectors. I like the looks but I tried ladder bracing and I don't like the sound. It may go back to Mother for a third reincarnation.

Steve - there are 6 garands; the 1st 6 in the rack L-R. That's what a Class 3 FFl is for, right?

A Class 3 license is for full-auto.. :) (don't get me started... I don't know what I've owned more in my life, guitars or guns...)

I must have been thinking of the 'class 3 tax stamp' I associated with full-auto. I seem to remember there also being a difference between 'full-auto' and 'machine' gun classes.

Muzzle loaders: 1812 Enfield Brown Bess, 1863 Springfield artillery rifle, and a Kentucky rifle hiding to the right of the rack.

The M1 carbine in the pic is a Saginaw S'G' and there is an UN-Quality running about.
