Joined: February 2009 Posts: 119 Location: New York | My pizza is a real tasty New York style thin crust made literally with the best cheese and sauce and homemade crust that I can find. The dough is my own recipe as is the sauce. I only eat it on the weekends. (Have to lose a few pounds) Does anyone here on this board own a Elite Custom C778 LX? I would love to hear about it. You know, get me drooling on my keyboard kind of stuff. (Although, the bad stuff is equally important) Hossman P.S. My Hawaiian pizza has honey baked ham, pineapple, cherries, and a sprinkling of ground cloves. It was very popular. The ground cloves was my "secret ingredient". That drove people nuts. Everyone wants to be let in on a secret. lol

I don't think I tasted pizza in Cicero but my faves were: Little Italy just off route 81 (Homer-Cortland), Villa Trinceri in Dryden and Napoli Pizza in Ithaca. All 'round beautiful country. I even did five years in a town no one has heard of out there: Groton! Just at the end of 222. I loved the drive from Ithaca (rt 13) to Route 20 out to Albany: in the fall it was simply glorious. I'm going to visit soon, I think: I wonder if the Braeloch and Glennloch inns are still standing in Casanovia? Or the Landmark inn a bit further east?

There was a Landmark Inn right in downtown Syracuse - is that one you're referring to? If so, that one is long gone. I have friends in the Cortland (even GROTON!) areas too and the Ithaca area is still a gorgeous part of the country. We hit the wineries down that way annually. Skaneateles is a great part of town to stop in too. If you do head out this way, let me know if you have time for lunch! Or if you need any info on what's still standing or not, just let me know.

It was in the area of Bouckville on Route 20, right about the place where the auctions would start. My stomping grounds over the years ranged from Richfield Springs (East) to Ithaca (West) to Binghamton (South) up to Syracuse where I taught for five years at the University (office in Crouse Hall). So in that "square" I feel at home! In Groton I lived for five years just around the corner from the Ben Conger Inn (on N. Parkway). Never stayed there but I'd like to. And yes, for sure, if I get out (pretty sure I will) I'll get in touch!

My wife and i decided that winter in upstate New York sucks so we moved to Tennessee. Hoss, we do love to talk about good food,(pizza), and good guitars. Not all of us like the same kind of pizza or the same model Ovation,(Some of us have even been seen playing all wood guitars). We do agree that not all of us are right all the time, nor all of us are wrong. Just a different. Any of you guys ever get to Drome Sound?

The adirondacks are awesome also. Route 20 is one of my favorite motorcycle rides. I have a Boss Hoss motorcycle that I get my kicks on during the summer months here. The Inns at Cazenovia are still there and this marks a great little run through the Chittenango falls on Route 13. Really scenic little trip. New York has quite a few lovely waterfalls. My son is attending Ithaca college, so I get to take a trip down there at least once a month. I will look for the Napoli pizza place you mentioned. My daughter may be attending S.U. in the fall. Waiting for her acceptance letter now. Now I have to go check out Dobro's links. :-)

I remember a small town there called Sheds. Funny! It was a while ago but even then my 1117 Legend was an "old" Ovation (1974). Still hangin' on to it!

In the interest of full disclosure: 60% of everything you hear is my OFC buddy Jeff Burns ("NostrAdamas" member # 2805). We found each other right here. A few years ago I posted saying: "Anyone out there want to form a duo-trio?" I heard from Schroeder (UK) and some others but far from Chicago. Then Jeff chimed in from 7 miles away! Still waiting on that Ovation endorsement deal:)
