After trying out a newer 2077 and my 1767 I am somewhat amazed by the difference in sound. Both strung with new identical strings the 2077 definitly sounded brighter, louder and had a more pronounced bass. The treble sound was more similar to a taylor to me. I thought wow, this is impressive but after playing both for about an hour I am not so sure it is really better? I am not sure but it does not seem to have the warm sound of the 1767 but I like the brightnes of the treble. So confused. I imagine each guitar likes different strings so for all those 2077 users out there is there a string the will produce a warmer tone to the 2077, or like wise a brighter tone to the 1767, at least on the treble end? I strung them both up with D'Addario 12s phospher bronze.

Wonder what they would sound like with mediums (.13-.56)? My rebuilt Legend (A braced) came with lights on it and sounded thin. It took mediums to drive the top.....

Although strung at the factory with D'Addario, I am not a fan. I have been experimenting with strings the past couple of months and have just recently tried ghs brand, medium. I like them, a lot. Still more to try, but I am so pleased with the sound of these strings on my Ovation Elite, I'm going to stick with 'em for awhile. If you haven't given them a shot, you might want to try a set. I think you'll be pleased. Let me know.

GHS has a Lawrence Juber line of strings. I had a set of those in mediums on my Legend and they sounded great. They just didn't last very long (could have been because Temp picked up the guitar when he was out here --- but boy, did those strings and that guitar sound great when he played it!).....

I'm thinking your 2077 is the LX contour ?
Don't know if you like coated strings or not but a month or so I decided to put on some GHS Infinity Bronze(12-54)on my 1771LX and it did just what you are looking to do on your 2077.
They are a quite a bit less than Elixer nonowebs.

I don't think I will ever go to another type of string on that guitar. :D
