Location: Cork, Ireland | When I click a 'send email' link in a website, my PC starts to launch Outlook but I want it to just open Hotmail instead . Any idea how to do it?
The search engines are telling me how to use Hotmail from Outlook, which is not really what I want to do. |

Location: Sunshine State, Australia | It won't work. You have to copy the address and open up Hotmail manually.
Web browsers are for web browsing, email clients are for emails. The email links are tweaked to open the default email application. Hotmail isn't an email 'application', it's really just a website.
Here's how I do it... click on the email link, allow Outlook to open, copy the address and paste it into HotMail. |

You can also right click on the link and choose "copy email address". |

Location: Wichita, KS | Actually, it may depend on your web browser. If you are using Firefox, you can modify that setting by clicking on the menu Tools->Options->Applications, then locating the "mailto" item and changing its setting. If you are using Internet Exploder, then from the menu Tools->Internet Options->Programs->E-mail. |

Location: Cork, Ireland | Fairly sure it used to be possible, maybe with previous versions of Windows or IE.
There was a screen which allowed you to set what application to use for email and Hotmail was an option |
