Joined: March 2003 Posts: 127 Location: Corvallis, OR | Hi I just posted a query about the sound of Adamas guitars, and it was answered well. But before I go after one on eBay, I still have some confusion on one point. Nut width ? The eBay ad says it is 1 7/8 in one place, then in another place it states that the nut width is 1 11/16 I Googled "Adamas 2080", and also could not find a consistent number for the nut width. (I am after a 1 7/8 nut width, which is the width of my 6774, and I prefer this) I hope that they didnt make them with different sizes nut width

I would think the label would read "2080 custom" or something in that case? I'm sure someone here has one and could verify how it is identified on the label. If I had to guess, I'd assume it was a 1 11/16" unless you had good reason to believe otherwise, since that is the "standard" width neck on that model… that's my 2¢… (if I had more than 2¢, I'd get a 2080 too ;) )

(ALPEP here on the OFC) You never know, he may have something in stock, or be able to keep an eye out for a used one for you, and with Al you will know for certain exactly what you are getting… ok, that's 4¢, I'm over my budget…

(off topic -- i lived in Corvallis for about 25 years. Nice place, and close enough you can easily make it to the next PNW OFC gathering.) _____ gh1

The seller highlighted that fact and that it was a custom order. I also noticed that when the seller cut and pasted to specs, that the standard nut width of 1 11/16 was listed there. I believe it was a wide neck for sure. But to be safe, ask the seller directly.

These weren't recent orders though. The practice may be different these days. A custom label would have been welcome on my two... metal/foil even better. :)
