This past weekend a friend of mine dragged me off to the "New York Fest of the Beatles", event held in Seacaucus NJ. The former guitarist from Wings, Laurence Juber, performed a solo acoustic set. I was knocked out by his guitar playing. He played on a signature Martin, some originals and Beatle tunes that blew the audience away. He used an wound G string for bending effects. Played some of the Beatle songs in non-standard tuning giving that drone melodic sound. He reminded me of Tuck Andress, but with an acoustic sound. It was a great surprise for me. I picked up his album on itunes, and it blows me away.

Been a fan of his acoustic albums for years.

He is very tasteful and creative.

LJ has some great music. He does some surprisingly good solo guitar versions of both Wings songs and Beatles songs.

He played it when I saw him. I wasn't expecting him to do the piano end, but he did it, so good too. Amazing how much music he produces from just one acoustic guitar.
