Fortunately I have so far avoided it, but the other disease to be wary of is AAS (accessory acquisition syndrom). This involves amps, pedals, and other gear that you feel you must have to make you a more complete player. I am, sad to say, falling victim to that particular illness. But the economy looks like it may step in and provide everyone with free Gas-X, a proven remedy for all GAS symtoms.

When I joined the OFC, I only owned one Ovation, my trusty Custom Balladeer 12-string. Here he is, 20+ years old and still stomping all over almost every 12-string he meets. Somewhere along the way, I must have innocently engaged one of the more contagious OFC'ers in a seemingly harmless conversation. Now I'm "suffering" from these not-so-terribly-unsightly blemishes. And there's more to come soon. ;) Hopefully.

Then again there are some that suffer from OAAAS (Ovation and Adamas Aqusition Syndrome). Enough already! Welcome.

Another term you will see here and wonder about is SWMBO. Stands for "she who must be obeyed". Last week we were discussing what we ladies should call our insigni...I mean significant others. (Hmmm...I.O. sounds just about right, now doesn't it?) Anyway, welcome and enjoy.

This place definitely isn't for the faint-hearted type of female-folk ('cause the guys do tend to forget that we're here sometimes), but it has taught me a ton of stuff about guitars and things relating to them. --Karen
