Also I'd like to own an Ovation Solidbody, any sugestions? I'm a 53 yr young grammy who loves peter, paul n mary) (no laughs thar either-did I tell you I'm retired police) |

If you like the tangent buy it but there are better USA models out there to be had.
as for the solid body viper or preacher or if you are on a low budget ultra gs
btw did you know paul was not even named paul?

Welcome ladylaw. I'm sure you'll find what you're
looking for. I'm not a Tangent fan, but I think the recent Ultras are a great value at about a Tangent price. For electric, I like Vipers best.
My favorite PPM song is "Day is Done". |

Location: Montana | I lusted after a Tangent for a while but then switched my lust to a Thunderbolt because they were made in USA, have a solid spruce top rather than the plywood top of the Tangent, and PEZ raves about his T-bolt (if you search for PEZs posts you'll see what I mean. And at the present time T-bolts aren't much more expensive than Tangents ( I watched one go for <$300 with case on fleabay). But I decided to get a solidbody first. |

Location: GATLINBURG TENNESSEE :) | I heard nothing but high praise about the Viper from anyone. After owning one now, I can see why. I don't think there is a better guitar for what they go for.
I can't say anything about the tangent from experience, but I don't recall hearing much ranting and raving from anyone here about them either. |

Location: Utah | "Leaving on a Jet Plane" was one of the first songs I performed as a middle schooler.
Anyhow, I really love my daughter's Preacher Deluxe. It has a lot of different sounds and is a joy to play. But.... it is a heavy sucker. Solid Mahogany. Like a brick really. Great guitar, but heavy.
Everybody raves about Vipers. That's what I would get if money is a concern. They go for a whole lot less than a Preacher or Breadwinner.
But what do you want it for? Just sitting and doodling, or for serious performances? Is there a particular emotional factor, like a long suppressed lust for David Cassidy which would suggest buying a Breadwinner? Or just a case of O'mania? |

I mainly play for my own pleasure and I just would like a solidbody Ovation.
Money is a consideration, so I'll keep looking and with all the help I'm sure I'll find something soon. |

T-bolt best neck I ever played
I still get comments on great it sounds
20 years later. I bought mine new in 1989. |
