I came up with a couple more that should be placed in a time capsule and not played for at least ten years: "Stairway to Heaven" "Young Lust" "Another Brick in the Wall" And the Entire Doors collection. Anyone else have other candidates for interrment?

I went through a period where I was ready to abolish the entirety of pop culture, figuring that there weren't a whole lot of babies in that bath water, that we could easily live without them. I've since backed off that militant position a bit, but still think that we could banish all of blues, bebop, Rock 'n roll, disco, funk, soul, rap/hip hop, for, say, 10 years, just to see if we could turn around the direction of pop music toward a more positive trajectory. I know that the risk is that the void would fill with swill that's even worse than what we have now...but maybe not. Otherwise, I just don't pay enough attention to pop culture to single out any one song.

Be careful what you wish for. based on the small sampling of modern music I've heard coming from the younger crowd, the void will be filed with complete trash and nearly certain to be 98% rap. Maybe a solution could be to play some off the back side of the albums from great bands. I hardly ever hear most of the songs I really like on the radio.

I listened to it for a while when Alice in Chains, Stone Temple Pilots and a few other good bands were getting airplay. Then I shut it off again. Now I only listen to NPR. Classical in the morning, jazz at night. But mostly I just play.

For 5 years Brian & I have resisted adding "Wild Horses" to our set list. Well, we have now given in to the dark side. But we won't add "Behind Blue Eyes"!!!

As for Hotel California, the acoustic solo on that song between Felder and Joe Walsh on the "Hell Freezes Over" DVD gives me chills...its brilliant...what a shame...Thanks a lot Don Henley....

I miss the DEEP catalogue of any band or era. How many know "Captain Beyond" or the back-tracks even of the Doors (Peace Frog, Soft Parade, Indian Summer etc)? The problem is the same few tunes OVER and OVER and OVER. ARRRRGGHH (shriek of "Music Geek")

I like everything on it. Should that change I simply remove the stuff I no longer like. I have several friends, as well as my children, who delight in sharing new music with me, a couple of whom have really excellent taste, so there's new stuff circulating in all the time. I, too, used to despise the radio. Now it's a total nonissue, although I do like the local public radio station and our local, listener supported, commercial-free classical station (both of which are also excellent sources for new music). But popular radio? It makes me weep for the populace.

When I had a job, we would listen to KNRK 'The Alternative' radio while working... You could set your watch by the Matisyahu song "King Without A Crown"... (I Like the Song, but) It would come on everyday for weeks at 4:06 right after the news break. If I really want to listen to music, I have 40 hours of music that I LIKE on my computer. And I can always add more.
