2001 Collector's Edition...center hole. Purchased via eBay. Love it! Gorgeous sound. GREAT playability. (Plus: I owe youse guys about a million pictures)
Enjoy!

* First
* Second
* Third
* Fourth
* Fifth
* Sixth

Apparently the center-hole version was offered only overseas. Look at dweezil's site to see the American (I think) offering.

The sound: just gorgeous! Playability: off the charts (for me, that is)

Also: just the prettiest guitar I have ever seen.

Yep, the redwoods are something special. I miss mine, but it's in good hands.

I would like to direct your attention to the third picture and the sixth picture.

Notice that the center hole is slightly out of round (upper right-side). Anyone know why?

No objection, by the way...the guitar is just gorgeous and so is the sound.

fyi, your first link is broken/typo.

you can post the pics into your posts by putting [ i m g ] URL [ / i m g]

(removing the spaces)

[fixed typo]

edit.. although, honestly, your server is pretty darned slow from the outside. you might be better off uploading to the social network ofc site, or flickr or photobucket, etc.

That is not a really pretty girl......she's drop dead georgous, pick your jaw up off the floor, put your eyeballs back in their sockets, breathe, just breathe beautiful.

Yep. You're right on the nose. I just haven't set up the flickr or photobucket things yet.

You're so right...sometimes I have to pinch myself that she deigns to be with me! I figured that if I said it more accurately -- as you did -- then she might take it into her head to leave me for a much more handsome (and rich?) lover. (as would be perfectly within her rights)

I think these will go down as one of Ovation's best looking and sounding guitars. They have a tone all their own. And they can almost turn heads just sitting there in a closed case.

Here's mine visiting the factory.

Thanks Alan. Yours too. If I had sold my Ute a little sooner, yours might have been mine. ;)

I hope to have a matched set some day. They're such great guitars. Enjoy the heck out of it.

Thanks Iffy,

I just ordered part of my birthday present from a Guitar Center in AZ today. Pray that their packing and shipping guy knows what he's doing and that I get the UPS courier who doesn't moonlight as the Samsonite Gorilla.

There's nothing more gorgeous than heavy ribboned flame, usually more prevalent in maple, but gorgeous in cedar, too. I'm not sure I have ever seen a wider ribbon as on yours, AlanM, and I'll bet the pics don't do justice for the 3d depth of those ribbons as seen by the naked eye. Beautiful.
