I wanna buy a floor stand for my Balladeer. I have an old stand (70's) but the rounded back keeps it from fitting in the stand. What is a good floor stand that is not too big? (for to keep in a living room) Thanks in advance. FYI - I'm not a good player but I coulda' been if I didn't take 9 years of accordion lessons as a kid. :)

In tight spaces, this might be risky. I bought a carton of heavy duty A-frame stands at a guitar store liquidation auction with long cradle arm supprts that work excellent for the deep bowls. The A-frames generally available on the Internet don't appear to be quite as heavy duty, but their cradle supports could probably be bent and extended to closely fit the deep bowl shape if necessary.

I just have three Stagg stands that I got for $15 or so (each) from the local b&m store. Nothing fancy and they work fine.... (for Ovations and electrics) [Plus one Wal-mart stand for $9.98 that I wouldn't recommend :p ]

(it was morning time...and I lost an hours sleep this weekend) :) footprints - I apologize for not knowing what an OFC page is or where to find it. I'd love to see your handiwork though. Thanks for all of the suggestions. I guess there are quite a few options after all.
