Just had a chance to listen thru this Album...

yet another indelibly elegant collection of story-based guitar tunes by a master player.

He is a cool player. I've watched a couple of videos of him and Chet Atkins.

Does he have an instrumental, or at least mostly so, album?
This one, by the way, is excellent. Funny name, I'll have to look into that.

Try "Screenplaying" .. a collection of Knopfler music from soundtracks and all (I think) instrumental. -- not as guitar-centric, though, to be fair. Oh and the Wag the Dog soundtrack, which is basically instrumental and more guitar oriented.

He doesn't have an pure instrumental album per se but he has done a bunch of soundtracks for movies like Local Hero, Cal, The Princess Bride, Last Exit To Brooklyn, and most of that music is instrumental and he has a compilation of movie tracks called, "ScreenPlaying"

I copped "wag the Dog" CD on amazon. I'll check out others.
Thanks
And thanks for the music to The Country Gentleman for the music. He was the guitar king* if ever there was one while I was growing up.
*I would've said "guitar god", but some would be offended. :)

Sorry I didn't see Wylde's name in the following paragraph:

In 1999, Chet honored Tommy Emmanuel with the title of "Certified Guitar Player" for his lifetime contribution to the instrument, a rare honor shared by only three other people in the world (Jerry Reed, Steve Warner and John Knowles).

Oh!
Wow!
I've seen and heard him a few times, but not in pop music. On PBS I think. I'm sure, in fact.
What can you say? The guy is good. You run out of adjectives.

Great video, but I wonder why he plays the guitar with it rolled up like that.

Cuz nobody has told him about that Standing Ovation thingie...

I play mine that way on the rare moments when I stand.
I find it more comfortable and convenient than playing a wood box straight vertical.

Thanx for the opportunity to post this scary pic...
