Hi, I would like to hear some of you people's professional opinions on strings for these guitar's. I set up my 1597 Adamas with 10's on the E A and D then put 9's on the G B and E. I do alot of bends "Hotel california lead" and find the 9's are alot more comfortable. BUT, What are the best strings to get the BEST tone out of these Guitars "any taker's" I look forward reading the opinion's this topic stirs up!!!! Thanks, Chris

Chris, if you do a search you will find this topic has come up dozens of times, and there are as many different opinions on this subject as there are members here. My best advice to you is to try as many different brands as you can get your hands on until you find the ones that YOU like best.

Some members prefer heavier gauge strings and a "Manly" neck.

IMHO (which is worthless, but since you asked) different strings are like having different guitars; it depends what sound/feel you're after. I'm just fine with Earnie Ball Earthwoods for all-around use; they're cheap and sound as good and last as long as any other uncoated string.

Brand is only half of the issue for me. On my 12 string I have used Earthwood lights, but to suit the moment I've put on all high-octave strings ("Nashville tuning), then other times I've used heavy strings tuned to open-B. In the winter when my hands hurt I frequently use Silk-and-Steels.

If money were no object, I would use Thomastik-Infeld strings. They sound like magic, they look gold-plated, but they're $30 a set for my 12 string and they don't last any longer than cheap strings before they go dead. "If I were a wealthy man"...I'd use them exclusively. As it is, I'll stick with Earthwoods.
