FYI: As some of you know, there is a nice way to LASER-ETCH your graphics (photos, art, text) right onto the surface of a tinted CD: silver, gold, red etc. The results, I think, are amasing. You need:

1) a LightScribe-enabled CD burner (very affordable)
2) LightScribe software
3) LighScribe blanks (affordable)
4) a good imagination

For musicians on a budget it's pretty snazzy. A local club owner who gets many submissions really noticed ours and asked me to submit the graphic for her website.

That's an impressive image for simply etching onto a single color. Very nice.

We've been using a DYMO dedicated printer. It does a good job but the ink can smear, depending on the disc surface. A non-smear product would be a big benefit.

One we did for the band members.

You DO have the advantage of color, Fly. And it's gotta be faster that the LightScribe which takes minutes per CD. I don't mind running my computer off hours so I make a few every day. Enough for a stash of 50 - 100 at any time. It would be TOTALLY impractical if you did serious sales.

On the upside, it looks like a jewel. Gorgeous. For pennies on the CD, even if you sell for $5 at a gig, it's all gravy.
