Location: SoCal | If it's got a truss rod cover, it means that it doesn't have a k-bar in the neck, just a regular truss rod. Probably a fairly shallow C curve. K-bar gives it more of a V curve (somebody correct me if I have these backwards).

I wound up buying the guitar. The price seemed right, and I've enjoyed my older 1127, a '69. I figured this one would have different bracing, as I already like the artist body shape. It's tough to get accurate bracing information.

Location: SoCal | My guess is that this guitar (built in 1982 from the serial number), has an A braced top with a truss rod in the neck (pre K-Bar). A very good guitar and you got a deal on it. It could have gone for 2-3 times what it did.
The A braced top means that the guitar will have a full warm sound. It's not going to have a huge sound. When you play with people playing big D size guitars, you'll get swamped, but for sitting around the house and playing solo, you're gonna love the sound.
The truss rod means the neck is lighter (which makes the whole guitar a lot lighter). Not as stable as a K-Bar, but it shouldn't be a problem. The neck profile is flatter than a neck with a K-Bar. Some people here prefer that.
It looks like the saddle is a bit low, so you man want to have the neck adjusted and possibly carve a new bone saddle. These guitars need a good break over the saddle to generate the sound of which they are capable.

Location: Location Location Location | Man, what a pretty guitar! This was well cared for. The top is flat with only two very small dings. No checking, no cracks. (I always like it when the seller is OVERLY critcal). Tuners are perfect. And what a sweet tone. Nothing like a 28 yr. old aged AAA spruce top! What I love about these artist depth bowls is the way the mids of guitar are very present.
The frets show some wear, and the action was a bit high for the way I play. The saddle doesn't seem to be fitted properly, and there are a few minor cracks along the binding where the frets are inserted. That's about it on the negative side.
For these things I brought the guitar right over to my local tech guy. When it returns, I'll post some pictures.
