Location: Agawam MA | I am trying to teach myself mandolin. I bought a nice Eastman Mando and have benn working at it sporadically for about a year. The neck is so darn small. Do ovation mandolins have wider necks?

There are wide neck models available but the difference is typically 1/8" or so. Not sure if it would be worth the extra money. |

That's pretty standard. Most mandos are 1-1/8 or 1-3/16 |

Location: Agawam MA | The nut width is 1 3/32. However the width of the strings at the nut is just under 1 inch. How does the string width at the nut compare with the ovation? Thanks for all the help.
