Location: Reno, NV | Yes. I like them a lot sound wise. I like the 11-52 GoldPhos the best, better than the 12's. However, I stopped using thme because the coating on the plain strings makes them feel "sticky" and slides were harder than regular strings. |

Location: big island | i only bought one set of the gold/phos (11-52). first tried them on the takamine EF75 and did not like them. so i put them on an adamas 1581 and liked them even less. they sounded shrill to my ears and lacked warmth. the gold color "tarnished" rather quickly. i wanted to like them, especially after paying the price. i keep going back to elixir nanos. |

Location: Tennessee | I like 'em. Not on every guitar, but on both the 1537 and the 2000C (neither of which are "bright" guitars to start with). Worked well on the JL3 too. They seem to sound better on guitars with gold hardware ... after all, sound is often in the eye of the beholder and the gold strings sure do look pretty on the right guitar. I don't have a problem with tarnishing, but the gold does wear off - especially over the soundhole where the pick is constantly hitting the strings. |
