The last 3 I've "Discovered" are all 19 years or older, deep bowl models. I just love the older Ovation "bursts". That antiqued, vintage look they have. Everyone who see's them compliments me on their look and their tone. As Ovation fans and "appreciators" of the guitar itself (not just Ovations) How do you personally rate these older models against some of the "classics" out there? Not just value, we all know they are the best bang for buck, but, the "other" things one looks for in a classic guitar.I don't care what the Experts" say. This may have been discussed before or should be a given that I/we all know about, but I'd like to have your thoughts and feelings refreshed here.

I too love the Sunbursts as both of my recent 12 string O's (1615-1 and 1158-1) are darkbursts...

There's still plenty of other work to do, but I couldn't resist the temptation to hang them up and see how it looked. There was one empty spot reserved for the 1619-1. I found it amazing how they all sang when I made noise in the room. when I played one guitar I could hear the others.

My 2 pesos: - Ovation makes some of the nicer sunburst out there, always has - Ovations are just about the most rugged road warriors you can buy, always were and still are - They are classic in the sense that they have held up so well and you can buy the very same guitar today (used) that your idols played on stage decades ago Classic like an early Strat, Les Paul, Martin? Sorry, but no way.
