Upgraded my EF75. Nothing wrong at all with the stock vintage style Gotoh's. But they aren't gold etched Waverly's ...

I've turned in to a little bit of a tuner pimp lately (it used to be guitar cases), but I can't help it - I just love the looks of this stuff.

Does it help your playing at all? Can you get fancy engraved lessons?

It makes me HAPPY. and in the end that's what counts.

It's like wives that spend lots of money getting their nails done. It looks good and makes them happy, but doesn't help their cooking or cleaning, or make them any better in bed does it?

I'll rest my case.

Errr ... depends on your fetish, Dave. Sometimes it makes all the difference. ;) . I too have a bit of a tuner fetish ... maybe I'll add a set of these to my StewMac order for the gold Grover Super Rotomatics I'm putting on the Cole Clark.

P.S. The Templeman ivoroids look GREAT on the 2000.

Dave (or however your calling yourself these days),

this IS a worthy upgrade! Beautiful Tuners for a great guitar!

And now I know what a special 75 gets as a gift for her second "arrival day" at the end of this month... Thanks for spending my money once more!

Beste regards,
Kurt

One absolute about Dave...nothing surprises me.

So nice. # 2 of 45 (Tak 45th Anniv.) deserves something like this.

# 0 definitely deserves it...

Tony, my 45th has already been upgraded. Also the TNV760. I even upgraded the Bluegrass 360, but I sold that one. Totally stupid 'cuz there is nothing really wrong with ping, gotoh and schaller. I just like high precision, over the top stuff. It's my own little economic stimulus.

Did you see this one? My Adamas 2008 Collector ...

Btw, the Waverly's are not an EXACT replacement for the Gotoh's on any of the Taks. The upper hole on each tuner is about 1/16 inch off. It's so close that you can't really drill a new hole, nor can you use the existing hole. No-mans land. You need to plug and fill the existing hole first (I used a mix of sawdust and hide glue). After it is fully dry you can drill the new hole. The plate of the tuner completely covers the plugged hole.

You know, we all have those little things about guitars that just make them that much more special to us.

For me, one of the things I really like, is a great strap. Moody Leather (no relation but it is cool to have that name on my straps) makes the best straps in the world and when you see the price you hope they are that good. I've got 4 of them on 4 of my most special guitars, and hope to buy more eventually.

Unfortunately, somebody exposed me to those straps a few years back. Now I gotta feed my habit.....
