Redneck Riviera is correct. Or, L.A. (Lower Alabama). My dad lives in Ft Walton Beach (retired from Eglin AFB). Nice area with nice beaches and good food, but VERY different from the rest of Florida, IMHO.
Different how? I like the area, to visit anyway. My ex-husband works at Eglin AFB and my daughter and granddaughter live down there. I could never live in the south, I'm lucky I survive the humidity in MD.
