| Hi,
As a proud owner of lefthanded 1719. I ask if someone of You could give me advise. The two highest strings E and B have started sound little unbright. It is still in same action that was put in the shop I ordered it and 1719 feels great to play. The string set (EXP 16) is new. Some advise to tell to my luthier who likes more my Martins.

Advice... Take off the EXP's and put on EJ16's!
Others may have better advice. :eek: |

Location: Location Location Location | OMA speaks wisely. John Pearse Phosphor bronze lights are good also, with a tad more tension than EJ16's. |

It could be the strings in the new set aren't as bright as you expected. The first thing I would do is try a different brand of string.
It is possible that the saddle is developing a groove. That does happen on new Ovations and is normal. Sometimes when the groove is forming, a little plastic bump forms on the front and back face of the saddle. That bump might be touching the string.
I usually have to use a small file or sandpaper to make the front and back of the saddle flat again. |

| Thanks Gary and OMA(nationfellow). I was just wondering if it has something to do with adjustments because those EXP:s have done their job so well until recent times. Could it be tension in the top or...? |

Location: GATLINBURG TENNESSEE :) | I had a similar issue once. It ended up that as I had frequently wiped the guitar down with a cloth, some lint had built up under the strings at the nut. A good cleaning and very slight filing fixed the problem. |
