S&G are touring here in June.

I am a big fan but the tickets available are very expensive. $285 each

I was wondering if anyone had seen them recently and what they thought.

Was the magic still there?

...saw them on a Paul Simon tribute on Public Television recently.... much of the Faerie Dust has dissipated, but it brought back fond memories. $285?....nope.

Wait til after the tour and buy the DVD.

You will have a better seat... And you can smoke whatever you want.

We got lesser quality tickets for $A97 each ($US68). I'm looking forward to it, although I doubt their voices still have the same quality as when they (we) were younger.

I agree... wait for the DVD.
Although once... just once, I paid about that much for some reeeealy good Who tickets.

Paul recieved some type of American Songwriter award last winter. Art joined him for one song and one song only.
I was uncomfortable to watch. They really don't like eachother. Paul was a half step away of being downright rude. And it seems like Paul dislikes Art more than visa-versa.

Brad...yup, that's the show to which I was refering. Not really a pleasant experience at all. Seems like everyone is getting way, way older... except me.

When Karl and I were playing, he had an S&G song capoed at the third fret. The version I had was later, capoed at the second fret. If we extrapolate from that, Art will be singing bass by now.

Anyone seen Simon&Garfunkel recently??

Who cares. I just don't get it. It's been 40 years since they've done anything original and interesting. I didn't even like them back when they were doing it for real ... I was too young to like their schlocky little ditties and they both seemed to be major league jerks even then. History has validated what was apparent back when I was 10. $285? Puh-leeze. Of course, if they get into a fistfight, I might be interested in ringside seats.

Boy, I liked them. They were the mood in RVN in 1970. "Bridge" is still one of my favorite songs. Having said that I've not seen them in person. I do have the DVD from their last tour where they play with the Everly's. It's pretty good, but I heard that Paul had some debilitating disease that required him to change his playing style. Still pretty darn good.

They were one of my favorites at the time. But I wouldn't pay $285 to see 'em!

Don't worry Brad, everyone was looking at Art and Paul, so they wouldn't have noticed. :D

No, I think I'll savour my memories and give my credit card a rest.

I really don't have a good vibe about this

$285...Harumph, no way. I saw Paul McCartney a couple of years ago and paid almost $200 a ticket and in no way shape or form was it worth it. Dont get me wrong it was a great show but so is 24. I prefer to go see some local bands for a few bucks, get a nice close seat and enjoy. James Taylor, Jackson Browne or the like all tour and have reasonable prices. Good luck selling out in this economy.

When it comes to ticket prices I suppose when the prices hit $30 the enjoyment dwindles exponentially, and when it hits $100 it's totally gone.

Adrian Legg cost 10 dollars. I walked a couple blocks from the office to see him. Once there, I was never more than 15 feet from him or the bar. He put on a great show and I had a nice chat with him afterwards. My kind of concert.

lady stonebobbo and I went and saw The Pretenders (well ... Crissie and Martin with a couple of sidemen) a couple of weeks back. Paid $40 apiece for the tickets and were 25 feet from the stage. Great show. Got the free Fillmore poster too. Pefect example of what a concert should be.

The upcoming show that has peaked my interest is Loggins and Messina. I'll be a happy camper if they just play everything from that live album they did back in the day.

Two years ago, for 5 bucks went to see Little Richard at Portland's "Bite" outside in Waterfront Park. Was right in the front. The guy is geriatric, but can still wail just like the old days. Best deal I ever had for a concert.
