One of my Favorite guitarsts, Dave Mason on an Ovation 12 string (all I know is that it is a slothead) and accompanist on an Ovation 6 string.

Great set,

Steve

The other guitarist would be Jim Krueger, who played with Dave Mason for years. My first recollection and the beginning of my infatuation with Ovation guitars started when I saw Mason (with Krueger) at the San Diego Civic Auditorium in 1975. They were playing what appeared to be the same guitars as in this clip ... although Mason also played a six string for a couple of songs. The show itself was interesting as they started very mellow and acoustic but kept adding personnel (Mike Finnigan on keys, Gerald Johnson on bass, and Rick Jaeger on drums) until they were rocking out full electric and ended up the show with a total kick-ass version of "Gimme Some Lovin'", a nod to his days with Spencer Davis. I still contend it was the very best live show I have ever seen.

I'm a big Dave Mason fan also. That song (Every Woman) has always been one of my favorites, thanks for the link.

DM has a relatively new CD out with a great title; "26 Letters, 12 notes." It's good. Here's his web site:
