Location: Dallas,Texas | Has anybody had a neckset done at the Ovation factory? Comments appreciated. Anybody know somebody in the Dallas/Fort Woth area capable of doing this? Thinking about just sending it to Ovation. Thanks for comments,Joe in Dallas. |

No. I don't.
Just reread 'Roundback's post that you replied to.
Why not just send your Ovation back to the MotherShip and have it done right... ? |

Location: Dallas,Texas | Thanks for the comments. Will contact Ovation and get details and cost. It's an '83 Collectors'. My favorite acoustic/electric. Have 3 of them now. First one for about 25 yrs. Has had pre-amp worked on,headstock glued back,re-fretted,new case.Still keeps going. The one I'm sending in is very clean, but will need a neckset. |

'83 Collectors' Is it the charcoal burst? If so, that's one of the few black Ovation finishes that I find appealing.
Send it off to 'Moms'! |

Location: Dallas,Texas | Yes,it's the charcoal burst. The sound I get from this model is very good. No need to check anything else out. It's going to need a neck set though, but worth it. Also the battery in this model pre amp last forever. |

Location: Boise, Idaho | Like the one on the left? No TRC, so it must be a Kaman bar. It's my daughter's. As nice a SSB as I've played and a local luthier dressed the frets and got it playing almost like an electric.

Location: Dallas,Texas | Yes,it's like the one on the left.I like the round-hole because if you choose to play it acoustic,it's loud and bright. The balance from low strings to high is what's always had me hooked on this model. It's as balanced as a Martin D18 and for electric application I think it's better. Will contact Ovation and hope it comes out O.K. |
