Don't have a lot of $$ to spend.
So, I was looking at some mid level O's.

Went to GC....didn't really like the
feel of the entry level Celebs.
(Fretboard felt...unfinished / gritty)...?

Been checking out the Elite line.
Also Celeb Deluxe CSE44-HB...
Both multi sound hole.

Looking for some opinions on these models.

Thanks!

How much is not a lot?

There are always good guitars for sale by members here.
You will be able to find real value for money.

Depends on your budget of course.

If you do want new talk to Al

I can get a new CSE44-HB w/ hardshell case,
set up, 2 sets of strings + free shipping.

$549.00

That's just about my limit.
So, I was wondering how the deluxe model
compares with standard Celebs & Elites.

Thanks.

VF,

Check here, craigslist (S.Jersey, Philly areas) and evilbay. You can find good, solid, USA built O's at or less than that.

Might want to look into the Balladeer's as well at that price point. It looks as though you dont want a center round hole guitar though.

CSE and CDX have solid tops. A CDX-44 has a better preamp.
Although I did own a CC44 with a OP4BT preamp like the CSE44 and it was satisfactory for my purposes.
I would sell you my 35 year-old 1621-4 Artist Balladeer for less than that.
But it is a center-hole, no tuna, 5-piece neck guitar with finish cracks.
But it sounds nice.

The Elite models are superior to to the Celebs (not saying Celebs are BAD guitars). If you are patient, you will be able to find some very good deals on USA made Elite models.

If you are going to play plugged in a lot, there's a very nice S/Shallow bowl Custom Legend on the Bay ... Custom Legend SS Bowl Looks like it has been to the factory for some custom fretwork, lots of bling.

Here's another nice 2778 Standard Elite in New England Burst with Deep Contour bowl. Elite It Has a Buy it Now of $649 with a "make Offer". Looks like a guitar shop, so they may be willing to do payments also.

I had 2 OVATION CELEBRITY DELUXEs multi hole, the CS347 and the CC44. Both sound and play awesome after a proper set up, which is usualy free at most guitar stores. I am very happy with mine. :D

Well looky there! Yep, that one used to be mine - just checked the serial number against my records. Good eye! No idea what this buyer's reserve might be, but I sold it to them for considerably more than the current bid. I had the full spa treatment done to it, it was practically a new guitar when I sold it off.

Either one of those would be great for gigging, but I personally like the deep bowl sound. But I think the Custom Legend is one of the most attractive Ovation guitars.
