Well, I had five kids in the talent show, but only one of them showed up on Youtube. If you type in "Hot Springs talent parade", you can hear Jessica Eide sing "Desperado", with yours truly on guitar. She should have taken first place, but the kid who won was a shoo-in because HER FATHER WAS MC, AND HER MOTHER WAS ONE OF THE JUDGES!!! (Only in Hot Sprigs! )But anyway, in the "related videos" box on the side, if you click on "Open Mike", you'll hear us doing "Here Comes the Sun". Oh, and by the way, "Grandmaster Trio" took first place in their catagory. That is the band my whiz-kid Jarrett fronts. They did "Free Falling", with Jarret singing lead and playing his usual AMAZING lead guitar.

It was a lot of work getting them all ready, but one of the most satisfying things I've ever done. I am SO proud of my kids. Thanks for listening.

...very cool Alison. Where was it held? Is the old "Civic Auditorium" down by the jail still in use?

Thanks Mike. And thank you Tim. We have a new civic center now. It is just past the dip bridge on South 6th street. A really beautiful facility. Hard to believe we could have something so big and classy in such a small town.

New Civic Center?!? ...sigh... I remember playing the old Center one High School Prom.... dark, musty, making a hash of Foghat tunes, graduates generally ignoring us...undulating "crack the whip" line... ah, the times we had..... :)

Alison,

Your heart must swell molding talent like that!

Watch out if Jessica ever belts one out... Great, just great!
