Is there a tutorial out there somewhere? I am sure the problem is that I am technologically challenged and I'm doing something wrong.

When the user manual to the alarm clock you just bought is 12 pages long it shows that things are getting way out of hand.

It may seem obvious to some, but since you are admittedly technologically challenged, lets start with the next-most-likely scenario: Perhaps you missed the fact that it has to be plugged into something? (either an amplifier via the standard jack on the guitar or headphones via the jack on the pre-amp.) It has a tiny built-in microphone to record vocals, but no built-in speaker for playback. If you have that covered, we'll go to step 2… (as soon as I figure out what step 2 is…) ;) Let us know if that helps? Have patience, it will be worth it. The iDea preamp adds an amazing amount of functionality into the same space as your previous preamp. In an Ovation/Adamas with an existing compatible preamp (OP/VIP), you can just remove the little springy wire that attaches the iDea preamp to the iDea can and then drop just the preamp into your existing OP/VIP can. The only thing that you lose with that method is the "line in" function. (You can still add files to the iDea from your computer, and you don't have to drill a hole for the "line-in" jack into a precious Ovation/Adamas guitar.) Once you get it properly hooked-up and understand the menu system, it's actually very simple and straight-forward to operate. I love my iDea, even though it wasn't my idea… :)

The girl there had no idea on how to work the iDEA pre-amp. Well, I established that it works. Now I just need to spend some time to figure out how to use it. Thanks again. Well, here I am playing around with it. Just imagine the microphone picking up everything I say (including "How do I get this thing to stop")and then looping it through the amp! :) Michelle

I'll turn the iDea on and just forget about it. Fill the whole damn thing up with 'whatever'. Then just run through on the computer (I use 'Fission' for this) and see what's there. Maybe take a snippit and reuse it later of just file it away. I've got a folder of 'stuff' just so I don't forget about it.
