Anyone use one of these amps? I was looking to pick one up just for some amplified sound and they seem to get great feedback and work well with acoustic/electrics.

I've got one. Let me preface my comments by saying that I don't perform in front of an audience. I use it just to jam with some friends.

That said, I think the amp is a good value for the price. I usually just play through the Clean channel and add any effects I want using my Digitech RP250 which I opted to buy rather than purchase the Spider's companion footswitch.

I also use it to amplify an acoustic on occasion and find the Spider's built in effects fine in that application. I say away from the Metal and Insane channels as those sounds typically don't suit the type of music I play.

I wish there were more options for saving pre-sets. That's my one real beef with the amp. But my RP 250 will save 60 user settings along with the 60 factory presets, so I have a work around for the Spider.

I've had mine for three or four years now and have no problems to report, so I can't comment on Line 6 service. I like the fact that all of their manuals are available on their web site in PDF format.

Thanks. Yes I just want something to plug into. I am in no way a performer or what have you. I just want to add some volume to the guitar from time to time. These seem to get great feedback and the 15 watt according to reviews can be rather loud when cranked up. For $99 delivered I find it hard to resist.

On the same note...

Check out the Roland Cubes too. The acoustic guitar sounds "decent" through the Clean or Tweed channel.

I had one before "loaning" it to my nephew. Tough to beat for the money.
