as it left Mother in 1993:

as it looked when I got it:

I tried something different:

Bubinga top, ladder braced, Storm tail. Definitely different, but the lack of break angle and/or the ladder bracing let it down; all mids and weak at that.

Back to the shed for try number 2:

Traditional layout, sound still sux. Ladder bracing just doen't cut it.

Bringing back to Mother today, to be continued!

Doing a trapeeze tailpiece on a guitar like that is invariably going to yield poor results. The top is braced for a bridge that pulls tension up on the top (away from the bowl). The trapeeze tailpiece bridge pushes tension down on the top (towards the bowl). This is the reason that trapeeze acoustic guitars have arched tops. But I do rather like the looks.

I appreciate the hole migration!

Is there a back panel? Try yarfing out some of the extra braces. Or trade me for something else to play with.

It's back to mother being reincarnated as a special order. Take everything I liked about the 47RI and change what I didn't:

think textured top,
Epis both sides,
cutaway,
acoustic only,
dark blue/beige burst,
dark bridge
maybe some stragically placed flakes on top.....
But NONE on the bowl!!!

Coming to a town near me in early fall.

Sounds like it would be easier to throw it away and start over.
