Last night the gang down here at the String Shop put on a benefit for a local lady who has terminal cancer. A bunch of us made food, and we had about a dozen musicians who played in rotation. (Seeing my new guitar didn't come in as planned I played the 2077LX I got from BT717. Got LOTS of compliments on the sound of that beautiful guitar, and had to answer a lot of questions about Ovations in general.)

Everyone raved about the food, and even more about the music. I had figured we might make around $500 for the lady. I was wrong. We made $1,100!!! And even more important, it warmed her heart to know so many people care. It was a lot of work, but oh so satisfying. I just had to share my happiness with all of you, my friends.

Wonderful story. That kind of community involvement is why I will always patronize the local small business person over the faceless corporate chain anytime. Great work!

Thanks guys. I'm not trying to blow my own horn, just bragging a little about what a great community I live in. That, and sharing my happiness.

Allison, when honesty spills out, that's not bragging. You should be happy, you should be proud and you should be sharing that with your family here. Thoughts go to her family but you did a wonderful thing. You should sleep well on that.

Great job Alison! Sorry the new one didn't make it, but the anticipation is all a part of the thrill.

Very Nice... And not the least bit OT.

Isn't that a totally positive guitar subject?

Very nice Alison! I always felt that Hot Springs was that sort of town. Small towns are great that way..... I sure do miss it!

I sure wish I lived near you, Allison. Now, that sounds like something to get excited about, and join in. Kudos to you and your community.
