Joined: January 2012 Posts: 8 | I just bought a used 1578 Ultra Deluxe and it is not anything like I have been able to find. It is not FMH or BC but looks like burled maple or ash. It is honey in color. No mother of pearl around the body, OP-30 preamp. I have emailed Ovation asking for information about this model but have heard nothing back. I can post pictures but don't knwo how. Any help??? Thanks

The finger board has a different curve at the bottom. I had found one post somewhere that showed the exact model I have but cannot find it again. I am beginning to think that Ovation made several proto-types and gave them to dealers. I had a Takemine that had the same story, only 100 or so made.
