Location: Brisbane Australia | It is something that is becoming quite popular here as an opportunity to experience other places and at the same time saving a lot of money on accomodation.
Anyone here had any experience of this.
Further to that anyone got any interest in spending a couple of weeks in Oz?

| Before we actually moved into this house, we rented it out on a weekly basis (this is a resort area)
There are several things I don't ever want to do again, and that tops the list. People do strange things to your house and its contents. |

Location: East Wenatchee, WA | Our new neighbors across the street have done this extensively both in the US and in Europe. In general they have favorable things to say about it, but do indicate it is not without it's perils.
Sometimes the restrictions the homeowner has are onerous, sometimes cleanliness/location and other factors.
But on the whole, they have been happy with their experience with it. |

Location: Right now? | I can relate. I used to own a house on the beach in Nags Head, NC. When I got divorced, I got the house in NJ, and my ex got the beach house. We used to rent it out during the summer months, and I couldn't even believe what people would do the place. I heard a story from another cottage owner who told me one of his renters tried to steam crabs in the dishwasher, leaving the entire place smelling like rotten fish! The good news is, I still get to use it whenever I want! ;) |
