Location: Budd Lake, NJ | Good evening, all;
Those of you who have met me over the years may have noticed a decided lack of continuity as to hair styles; at the Mothership gathering in '06, the look was most decidedly long. At '07, a short bob. At the Smokey's Jam '08, slightly longer. And now, shoulder length.
There is a reason for this; I am doing my best to get the required 12 inches grown out to donate it to "Locks of Love," in order that kids who are bald as a result of chemo can be provided with a wig of natural hair. It can take the hair from 6 donations to make one wig.
Anyone can donate; they only ask that the hair not be bleached blond (other coloring agents are o.k., though; if you have any questions, you can check their website.)
So, if you have anyone in your sphere of influence who's thinking of cutting off their gorgeous tresses, please, ask them to consider donating it for a good cause. Somewhere out there is a little kid who will appreciate it.
("And now, we return you to our regularly scheduled programming...")

My eldest daughter has twice had her tresses cut for the same organization.
Bless you! |

| I used to have hair down to the middle of my back up to about 5 years ago. When I cut it off it went to Locks of Love. |

Location: Hot Springs, S.D. | As I have gotten older my hair has grown quite thin. My only surviving ex, Steve, has beautiful thick, wavy, shiney hair. He used to have it down to his waist, and I asked him if he ever got it cut, could I please have it so I could make a wig for myself. When he finally did get it cut, he donated it to Locks of Love instead of to me. Made me downright proud of him. |

May I say Thank-you!! |
