Here's some info off the Ovation website.
I don't think it's a solid top.

I would not consider it a High end Ovation.

The Ultra line are meant to be entry-level, and not high end. I don't know of any that has a solid top, and they use less expensive materials overall, like rosewood instead of ebony or resin-impregnated walnut for the fretboard. They also come with cheaper tuning machines than on the higher end models. That's not to say it's a bad guitar - it's just not designed nor built as a high end Ovation.

I am surprised that it has an OP-Pro in it...
Is it Used? (of course it's used) Cuz someone must have put that in there...
Are you sure of that number? (excuse me, I don't mean to be rude)
There were some relatively nice New issue Ultras out there until last year.
They had solid-tops and the OP-Pro.
But they were still selling for $500 to $600.
Then when the close-out came, I got a 2171 for $310 and a 2178 for around $400.
But the 1517 went for $599 new back in 1990.

I had a '95 1517D - my first Ovation.
Wasn't a great guitar, but certainly not a bad one. I would rate the one I had above a Celebrity, but below a US O.

I had both of these at one time... Both have solid tops and the OP-Pro...
Both are Ultras.

Epaulets = 2178... Center Hole = 2171... And both are Gone!

I have one of those...it was my first Ovation. I like it. I paid too much for it, but I do like it. I picked up several more Ovations after that (like 12!). My favorites are the Adamas guitars, of which I have about five. Glorious guitars!

The 2071 plays and feels very nice, but not as nice as an Adamas.
