I can't recall what he was supposed to be ordering but what he got was a 2080 with a different top and a 1680 12 fret neck on it. And it was stunning both to look at and to play. I believe that he was selling it or sold it a couple of years ago. Wish I had been in the position to buy it.

Location: Newington, CT | I own three of 'em -- including the aforementioned OFC II -- and I love 'em.
GREAT sound. I happen to like how they look, but that's just a quesztion of taste. Definitely more austere, though with a techie look. Very, very playable. Light and rugged. Stay in tune forever!
Lows are full-bodied and round. Highs are bright and loud. Mids are a beautiful combination of both. Very round, full, dark, warm sound. And they quiet down just beautifully. When not booming, they do sweet-and-pretty really well.
Pesonally, I love 'em. As mentioned at top, I own the one they are referring to above in this thread -- the OFC II that Weaser and G8r didn't like 'til they heard it. I recommend it highly.
Full disclosure...I'll probably sell one or two of them, as I have settled on the OFC II as the 2080 representative in my collection. However, I'll be selling them only because I don't play them enough to justify keeping them. They're just beautiful guitars! |

Location: France | Frankly, I have just received this morning my 2080 and it is an extraordinary guitar, less crystalline than the collectior 2008 but with a powerful sound, of nice low and nicer in reality than in photographs!!!!
I'm really very happy with this purchase!!!!! |

Location: Newington, CT | Long story short: Had none. Bought one in a package deal for an okay price.
Saw another from wwbw.com in a closeout sale for less than half what I paid for the first one. Bought it to turn it around, and haven't got around to it yet.
Really liked the guitar itself, so when Al came up with the OFC II that is kind of a Custom 2080, I decided to "upgrade" to that one.
Now, I'll probably sell the first two.
They're wonderful guitars, and with the bargain price that I got the second one for, I should be able to make my money back on them. I'd then end up with the OFC II as my "2080."
Kind of a convoluted path, but one that let me really experience the 2080 up close and personal. |
