OK, so I'm not that far out yet but....I was approached after last week's performance to join up with a Bluegrass group here in the Tidewater area. So far, we're just a trio, a Dobro player and stand-up Bass. Still looking for a bango player, TRBoy...want to move up north a little?
The Bass player does the singing, she's got a great voice. Lots of traditional folk, straight open chords for now. The dobro player does a good job running leads. I took the Fudd for the first jam session. Hardest thing was keeping time...I really suck stomping my foot :)
We'll see where it goes from here. Wish me luck!

Nice Tim...
Show those guys what Adammi are all about.

BTW... When Tim is not protecting our country or being the official "rhythm bitch" for some bluegrass boys, he pitches for the Detroit Tigers under the name "Jeremy Bonderman".

Congrats Tim. You're taking major steps in becoming a better player. It's tough to get out and start playing with others, but it's the best and fastest way to improve (not that it's ever done me any good)....

Tim,

Check out WDVX on the web. It is a commercial free station with strong emphasis on Blue Grass. You can find in on the web and they stream a full time webcast. They also sponsor a free lunchtime concert everyday in Knoxville called the 'Blue Plate Special'. Steve Sutton appeared there a couple of months back.

That would be the Dobro man's antique...my house is nowhere near as nice. But it does have a cement pond in the backyard...and a whole herd of critters that hang around cause the wife feeds them everyday :)

Tim,

The FD is a good choice. I played the one Trader Jim had. A real cannon.

The Fudd isn't as loud as any of my Adamas but it has a mellow wood tone that sounds great against that Bass. I'm actually thinking about trying the Ute next time around, see how that does.

No roundback badging from these folks, they said there was a fellow that plays an Adamas I (that one with the real nice carving on top) at the Bluegrass festival around Richmond.

Hope to see him this summer...

i dont know if you guys are being goofs or what... but if anybody wants one ive been trying to sell my pool table for about a month now. 200$ get this thing outta here! i need room to play! 8ft slate table great shape. Also, i know this forum is for guitar and related things , but i was wondering if any of you guys could point me in the right direction of a good webcam, to record playing, and stream video, for some tricks of the trade from my father. iF ANYONE USES ONE, IT WOULD BE HELPFUL.
