I think Patch may be in part responsible for Brazil's deforestation! Also be forewarned that there may be a tape shortage in the New York area. The '00 Collector is gorgeous! Patch's description was dead on. The color is a bit darker than the Ovation site shows. Maybe it's mellowed due to age. I prefer the deeper color. I'm very impressed with the tonal balance and volume. When I first strummed some chords I couldn't put my 'ear' on a difference I heard. Then it dawned on me that the highs weren't dominate like with many other gits. Therefore the awesome low and mids! The action is dead nuts on. There is a noticeable ridge on the back of the neck at the laminations, although it does not affect my playing. I just wonder the rationale for the design. Here's to another terrific transaction with Patch... I'll report on the '96 when I complete a beauty treatment on her.

But there are probably emotional reasons tangled up in there, too. Regarding the neck, I agree ... there is a somewhat pronounced V shape to it that you feel right away -- without doubt I do like it though. It just somehow feels right when played. And yes, mine does have a mellower (less bright) sound than all other O's I have (and have played). I like it a lot.

All he can do thus far is 'titty-boom, titty-boom'! Got another in the 'hanger' due to hit the runway in October. Life is GREAT!

Unfortunately I won't make it due to our annual family vacation. Any other date would have been fine (except for the spiny lobster seasons in the Keys). In fact, I have a nephew in Columbia SC that I'd love visit en route. BUT, if TJ has room, I'll gladly loan any 'O' I have to add to your festivities! BTW, that's the '97 Collector I adopted form TJ. ![]()
