me brother met an elderly man a few day's ago he's 85 year's young he's a guitar player and sing's he's played in band's many year's ago.so my brother told this old man about me playing to and I have a few guitar's so this persson show'd my brother his guitar a 1940 or 50 Gibson Hummingbird some kind of dark red sunburst in very good condition whe actualy have the serial #18358,can any body here tell me of it's origin if not can you dirrect me to a Gibson web-site to inquirer about this very old guitar and it's worth???

Made in Kalamazoo 1961 according to that serial number.
Depending on condition probably $3-5k

Location: Boise, Idaho | Just did some research on these for a friend, but have already forgotten most of it. The old ones and the new ones bring some decent prices, but the ones from the 80s are so-so. There was an 80s vintage for sale for $1500 that I don't think ever sold. I compared it to a fairly new $200 Epiphone Hummingbird and the Epiphone sounded better. |
