I just purchased a 1981 acoustic only balladeer from a fellow member named gary,, actually brooklyn. Not only did i make a wonderful friend but i received a MINT BALLADEER ! The quest now is to find a case that is correct for this guitar and that year. There are 2ea cases on ebay both look 70ish brown. What gary passed on to me was a 1981 balladeer 1111 large (black) bowl. Any possible leads sure would be appreciative. thanks

ps. would it of been common that a balladeer with a black bowl be sold stock in 81 with a brown case?

Brown cases were stock cases then...they switched to black cases in the mid to late 80's...get a brown case for a deep bowl or contact Al a Lost Art Vintage for a newer case: or he may even have an original one.

I don't currently have a brown case, but when I did need one for an older O this is how I got one...
Buy a project/beater off of evilBay with a brown case, then sell the guitar. :p
If Al or somebody doesn't have one, that would be worth considering.

[Personally, I gave the beater to my friend Tom so he could learn Luthiery, don't know how that turned-out]

Thanks for the inintentional plug, OMA. All my current Fleabay auctions have hardshell cases. The 1116, 1115, & 1624 cases would likely fit an old Balladeer.
