If it's ebony, then that provides a nice surface that's easy to come back to after playing a tele, and tone is nice and snappy too! It sounds to me like you gotta rosewood fretboard, so maybe a switch to one with an ebony fretboard?

Wonder what model Ovation this escaped from? What are you planning to do with this Maple Neck, in any case?

Ahem... and I have a Deep Lyrachord bowl with the "pre-cutaway" cutaway and a K-bar socket. Let me know when the Office is finished and the Lab-OR-a-tory is back in bussiness!

Perhaps this should be a group effort to construct an original BFLG "Commemorative". What we REALLY need is an original Adamas top, and an "idea" preamp. I have a couple of 3-to-4-"A" top sets, and an 18" table-top sander, so there are some possiblities. Anybody got a boatload of abalone? How 'bout a redwood top, & a maple bridge (to match the neck)? Or, the *Dylan BFLG*- "Blonde On Blonde" Lots of prospects, anyway.

Since our new bridge design has less mass, it takes less string energy to excite the bridge and guitar top resulting in a quicker attack, more powerful fundamentals, and more pronounced overtones. Developing this bridge design, was an epiphany for us in decreasing guitar bridge impedance, which allows us to better balance our guitar's overall voicing." -from this site: http://www.northstarguitars.com/drawing_board.html
