Since most of you have forgot more about Ovation guitars than I know I'm curious on what guys(and gals) think about this. I was the winning bidder on this and this will be my first Ovation. My buddy has this guitar and I've enjoyed playing it. Also, I'm on a limited budget and I really couldn't spend much more than this. Soooo, does this seem like a fair deal? It does to me, but I'd love to hear your thoughts. Thanks

I just realized after rereading my post that I should have put an exclamation point, not a period at the end of ....this will be my first Ovation. Ha ha.

While I prefer deep bowls, for what you paid, you got a very good deal.

Those 1868's are one of the best SSB's out there. I loved mine, and now that I turned it into a mandocello, I love it even more.

Good get.

Excellent deal, especially with a realistic shipping price.

For me personally, I find SSBs to be excellent handling guitars for gigging while plugged in, particularly from a standing position. Your purchase appears to be an excellent deal. I've paid a little less for a USA-made SSB, but it was a different model and not nearly in the excellent condition that yours appears to be in. On the other hand, I've also paid a whole lot more for other SSB models. Congrats.

I agree with earlier remarks. My preference is deep bowls, but that's just what it is - a preference. If you play mostly plugged in you won't hear any difference between a super shallow and deep bowl. Given its apparent condition that's a very good price. Let us know how you like it when it arrives.

EXACTLY!

If you are happy that is all that matters.
