I think it's the early sign of arthritis rearing it's ugly head. Has any guitar players out there tried glucosamine/ condroitin (or anything else)with any success? I did get a good tip to cut out the aspartame in my coffee. I'm also taking fish oil and popping advils.

I think they have some of that stuff in them. Otherwise, aspirin, alleve, or some of that other Neproxen Sodium crap might help..." The generic Alleve is the same crap, only cheaper. That is two pills a day, one if you only take them while you are awake. I rarely need them, but they do work... for me. As they say; Only your Doctor can tell you for sure if this is a major problem. [But he will probably just prescribe you some Oxycontin and send you on your way]

Not a good thing if you can't eat shrimp and other stuff like that. (And the warning is in teeny, tiny letters that are really easy to overlook--like I did. Fortunately, I only took one, and the reaction wasn't too severe--this time.) --Karen

Patty and one of my daughters, a nurse, went through the same hand pain symptoms. Once they gave up the aspartame, in about a week they both enjoyed relief. Bob, the bottom line though is get to get a professional evaluation after at least a week of aspartame abstinence. Good luck my friend!

When sleeping, try not to bend your elbows, knees, and most importantly, don't ball up your fists. Keep your fingers straight, but relaxed, as much as possible. It made a difference.

It seems to make a difference. One other thing . . . regular finger stretching and wrist flexing exercises were also recommended. My preference has always been to try and take care of things without the intervention of drugs. I know it doesn't work for everybody.
