Location: Pittsburgh, PA | Hi all, I'm new here.
I got what I believe is an early CC026 guitar that seems to have slightly
different specs than other CC026 models I've come across.
Model CC 026
Tag reads; "Kaman Music Product - Made in Korea"
Bowl is stamped "Bowl made by Ovation USA"
No serial number or assembly date
Spruce top, natural finish
Rosewood neck, dot inlays, no binding
OP30 preamp system
Is this an early model? Anything special about it?
It's a surprisingly nice playing Celebrity. :D |

I'll get a pic but visually it's like any (newer) CC 026
The craftsmanship / fretwork and the way it plays and sounds is
pretty impressive for a budget model Celebrity.
Just wondering if it was an early model, anything special. |

Location: Boise, Idaho | It sounds like the CC 026s that I played. I can't remember for sure if they had the OP30 in them, but I think so. The OP30s had just come out about 5 years ago when I was trying out every Ovation I could get my hands on. I thought they sounded better than the CC 057 shallow bowls.
I don't think it's anything special. They are just decent budget guitars. Like most Ovations, it's a good bang for the buck.
Welcome to the Ovation world, Shelby. There are many more surprises out there. |

I didn't think it was valuable or anything.....
But wow.... it's a sweet little guitar for a budget guitar.
I don't think the newer ones are this nice. |

On the Ovation Archive page the CC026 is listed as having an OP-11 preamp.
But once you have that can, an OP-20 or -30 will fit in there also.
I think that they came with assorted preamps, cuz I have seen them with OP-20's also.
(I've got a CK047... Similar guitar. It's a nice little git-fiddle) |
