(And I also thought that my current vacation was gonna be more temporary! ) So, you are gonna have to decide it you Like the Adamas that much. And if you can sell it for $1500 if you don't... (Probably Can!) A quick evilBay search of completed listings shows them going for $800 to $1500. I have seen them go for more recently, but they just didn't come up on this search. And I wish that I had seen that $815 SMT... Everybody's wallet is a personal thing. But I am thinking that if it is in 9/10 condition, I would get it. You can always sell it for that much if you decide that you don't like it. BTW- Without pics we are all just guessing in the dark! I mean, I know it is a cutaway with outie epaulets... But!

Some, like myself, aren't really that attracted to the 1 series with the broccoli headstock, and (I know not many will agree with me on this), I think the 2 series sounds just as good for less money.

I much prefer the headstock of the II series over the Adamas I, i really don't like the broccoli efect either, to me it is quite ugly. Each to his own though, that's what makes the world an interesting place to be in. Btw, the 1681 went out on it's first gig last night, sang like a bird!

Welcome BTW. People either have a love it or hate it relationship with Ovation and Adamas guitars. They have their own unique sound, so if you like "woody" tone, then you'll be better off with an all-wood guitar. On the other hand, Adamas have great playability, they're bullet proof (great gigging guitars), and their tone is consistent and even across the range and up and down the neck. Try one - if you don't like it, sell it and get another one. Lucky for you (if you have the means) the market's so depressed that these are going for a song - less than $2000, which in an ideal world is less than half of what they should be going for. Best of luck and keep us posted.
