The Ovation iDea, what are the thoughts on this guitar? My friend is looking to upgrade his Cort and this is an option. I have a T357 that he loves but I will not sell for anything.
Please save the buy Made in USA speech, if you are going that route. My Ovation is MIK and it sounds better than 95% of guitars I have tried. Hence why I bought it. And for the price it simply cannot be beat. If you have experienced the iDea let me know your thoughts.
Thanks |

Al sales the iDea for a pretty good price. Give him a call. |

If your bud is still interested, I have a brand new one HERE.
Serge beat me to the links. The IFD doesn't show up for me either. |

Thanks How about the "play it for yourself" speech?
Seriously. If it sounds better, it sounds better, regardless of where it was made. I gave the Korean version of my favorite model an honest ear, and it wasn't that bad.
I have 3 comments on the guitar:
(1) the paint feels like it's going to rub off, and makes the guitar surface feel like it's got dust on it, even when it's clean (anyone else feel this?)
(2) the soundholes look absolutely killer! (I wish they would make a textured Elite T with them!)
(3) the sound next to a similarly priced Korean Elite TX leaves much to be desired. If you're more focused on the preamp, get another model and pop in the iDea preamp. If you like the sound of the guitar as is, then go that route. |
