nope not so weird
that is to emulate Hendrix's guitar there were guitars made with reverse necks, upside down pickups and lefty trems. this was all to borrow from the hendrix mystique.
I rememeber schector did this back in the early 80's and I thought it was really call they actually called it the jimi hendrix model.
I played one and thought it was a horrible sounding guitar and I never thought much about it.

but hey hendrix played thourgh marshalls fenders (with JBL's) and sunns too and he always had his sound.

Didn't SRV eventually just use a left-handed bridge in order to reverse the tremelo arm position because he preferred to work it with his wrist?
